East Bay Regional Park District -- Without the help of dedicated volunteers and docents, the East Bay Regional Park District could not offer the public the variety of services and programs that it does. There are many year-round volunteer and docent opportunities for you, your family, or your school or civic group in the Regional Parks. For information, email us at kfusek@ebparks.org, call our volunteer coordinator at (510) 544-2515, or visit EBparks Online for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
East Bay Trail Dogs -- The East Bay Trail Dogs are dedicated and trained volunteers who will assist public agencies within Alameda and Contra Costa counties in the design, construction, and maintenance of multi-use trails. We are actively seeking new members to our group. We usually work from 9 a.m. until 2 or 3 p.m., on two Saturdays and one weekday a month. Some volunteers come to every event, and some come every once in a while when they can make it. Any time you would like to join us on a project, you will be welcomed. Contact Harry Silcocks @ (925) 240-1641 or email info@eastbaytraildogs.org.
Open Heart Kitchen (OHK) -- All volunteers must first register and be approved through OHK’s on-line process before they can volunteer. You will NOT be able to access the volunteer sign up page until your registration has been approved by the Volunteer Coordinator which can take up to 2 business days. You will receive an email indicating whether your registration has been approved. Once approved, you will receive instructions to create a log in and can then start scheduling volunteer shifts at the various Open Heart Kitchen locations. The process is all on-line and there’s no need to call to schedule a shift unless you wish to schedule a group volunteer activity or there’s a need to cancel a shift within 12 hours of the scheduled activity.
Once your volunteer application is approved and you’ve created a log in, you can go to “Manage My Account” (under Volunteer) to sign up for volunteer shifts at our various locations.
Tri-Valley Animal Rescue -- Volunteer opportunity for teens (aged 13-17) and Juniors (aged 10-12 w/parent or guardian).
