General

Tri-Cities League of Volunteers (LOV) -- LOV in Newark is offering ongoing opportunities for adults and youth to volunteer for their many programs and events.  LOV is located at 36120 Ruschin Drive, Newark.  Volunteer opportunities are varied and depend upon events and outreaches taking place at the time.  Currently there is a need for assistance with the Sunday Afternoon Concerts on March 13th, April 10th and May 15th, and if interested please contact Harold Colon at harold@lov.org or (510) 793-5689 for more details.  For other volunteer opportunities please contact Joanne Paletta, at joanne@lov.org or (510) 793-5683.

VolunteerMatch.org -- VolunteerMatch.org connects people who want to change the world together.

Volunteer Center of the East Bay -- The Volunteer Center is the place where volunteers and nonprofit organizations connect in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  It’s fun.  It’s free. And a small contribution of your time can make a big difference.

Oakland Zoo -- Volunteer opportunities at the zoo for ages 16+.  Office tasks, cleaning, helping visitors.  (510) 632-9525.

Project Open Hand -- Youth 15+ and Adults.  Provide meals to seniors and people with HIV/AIDS.

East Bay Trail Dogs -- The East Bay Trail Dogs are dedicated and trained volunteers who will assist public agencies within Alameda and Contra Costa counties in the design, construction, and maintenance of multi-use trails. We are actively seeking new members to our group. We usually work from 9 a.m. until 2 or 3 p.m., on two Saturdays and one weekday a month. Some volunteers come to every event, and some come every once in a while when they can make it. Any time you would like to join us on a project, you will be welcomed. Contact Harry Silcocks @ (925) 240-1641 or email info@eastbaytraildogs.org.

East Bay Regional Park District -- Without the help of dedicated volunteers and docents, the East Bay Regional Park District could not offer the public the variety of services and programs that it does. There are many year-round volunteer and docent opportunities for you, your family, or your school or civic group in the Regional Parks. For information, email us at kfusek@ebparks.org, call our volunteer coordinator at (510) 544-2515, or visit EBparks Online for upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers for Outdoor California -- Volunteers for Outdoor California (V-O-Cal) engages the community through large scale environmental stewardship projects on public lands. V-O-Cal partners with public agencies and other non-profit organizations throughout northern California. Please visit their website to find more information about upcoming projects and how to volunteer.
